Acoustic Screens

The NSL Acoustic Screens have been developed to cater for the diverse range of constructional and performance specifications required for all markets.

An acoustic screen or barrier will provide good noise reduction and can comprise of many different components and assemblies depending on the design requirements. Acoustic screens or barriers can be designed to allow airflow through to enable equipment to operate, as necessary. Typical options to allow airflow or components to pass through the screen include attenuators, acoustic tunnels, acoustic louvres, and other options are available.

Screens and barriers can be designed in some instances with integral structural supporting methods. However, on exposed, more substantial sized solution supporting steelwork matrix can be provided to provide the necessary supports for screen and barrier actual weights, potential wind loads and any other factors that need to be considered.

Our screens can be provided in suitable sections to be manhandled on site to aid installation or can be provided in more sizeable modules as necessary for crane or other forms of lifting.

Initially within the screen area, we can provide acoustic wall lining if required.

We can provide single or double access doors, inspection hatches, steps, ramps, partial or full demountable areas and many other options to provide safe access.

We have various types and standards for acoustic panels, these generally are 50mm, 75mm or 100mm thickness depending on the acoustic performance required.

Acoustic panels are constructed from perforated sheet metal with the infill sealed behind a resin bonded tissue facing to prevent particle migration. The infill is a controlled density mineral wool or glass fibre and shall be inert, non-hygroscopic, rot proof, vermin proof and have a Class ‘1’ rating for spread of flame in accordance with BS476: Part 7. A separate unique peripheral retaining frame provides inherent structural rigidity for the Acoustic Panels.

On external applications, infill is sealed in a Melinex lining to provide full weatherproof protection.

We have various finishes for these acoustic screens and barriers. Typically, they are finished in galvanised sheet, polyester powder paint to standard RAL or BS colour or plaster coated steel. Supporting steelwork can be galvanised or painted to suit.
